Kentucky Institute for International Studies

The Kentucky Institute for International Studies (KIIS) is a consortium of colleges and universities that has been established for 33 years and is based out of Murray State University.  All credits participating students receive on a KIIS program will transfer in as credits from Murray State University. 

KIIS Program Details

  • All programs are in non-English speaking regions of the world.
  • 18 summer programs are offered in Europe, Latin & South America, and Asia.
  • Semester programs are offered in Germany, Mexico, France, and Spain.
  • Some programs are language-intensive and offer an wonderful opportunity for interested students to improve their foreign language skills.
  • Many programs offer classes that are taught in English.
  • NKU professors regularly teach and direct on the KIIS programs.

    KIIS offers a scholarship for participating NKU students.  Other scholarships are also available to NKU students studying abroad.
